Chryceis Hollars

Senior Youth Mental Health Ambassador

🌏 Chinese American 📍 New York

Chryceis Hollars is a senior in high school who is passionate about educating her community, and learning about youth mental health and the effects of culture on mental health.

She works with her local Chinese Community Center (CCC) on the youth mental health group CAPE, formed with the support of the center. As President of CCC-CAPE, Chryceis works to advocate, educate and provide peer support to both the youth and parents in the Capital Region.

Chryceis joined Thriving Asians as a Youth Mental Health Ambassador in 2024, and fostered partnership between Thriving Asians and CCC-CAPE. Chryceis co-developed the “Art & Mental Health Toolkit” - a series of resources and workshops blending Chinese art with lessons on social-emotional wellbeing. Through this collaborative project, she helped facilitate community listening sessions and workshops for CCC-CAPE children, teens, and parents.

Additionally, Chryceis supported Thriving Asians legislative advocacy efforts. Her comments on the importance of mental health awareness among Asian youth contributed to the passing of NYS’ Inaugural AANHPI Mental Health Day in May 2025.

Chryceis continues to grow her leadership at Thriving Asians as a Senior Youth Mental Health Ambassador. This year, she aims to grow her project to include the “Dance & Mental Health Toolkit” - blending Chinese dance with lessons on mindfulness
