Information for
Organizations & Schools
Organizations and schools seeking to cultivate mental health leadership among AANHPI youth in their communities are invited to become Partners of the Mental Health Ambassadorship.
Partner Organizations may include community organizations, schools, colleges, universities, student organizations, faith-based organizations, etc.
Requirements
The ideal Partner Organization has:
• Exceptional Youth Leaders to serve as Mental Health Ambassadors
Ideal youth leaders have an interest in AANHPI culture & community; mental health; and/or justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI).
The organization may identify specific individuals to serve as Mental Health Ambassadors; or relevant groups/programs from which Mental Health Ambassadors will be selected
(e.g. cultural club, mental health club, mentorship program, student government, etc.)A minimum of two Mental Health Ambassadors are required to implement a project. If more than two are identified, they may work as a team.
• Onsite Support
The organization must designate a key staff / member who will provide onsite support to the Mental Health Ambassadors throughout the duration of their project
An appropriate onsite support person may be a faculty advisor, counselor, mentor, program leader, etc.
• Leadership Commitment
The organization must have involvement & support of key leadership to ensure success of the Mental Health Ambassadorship project
Partnership Contributions
Thriving Asians will provide:
Training & Mentorship to selected Mental Health Ambassadors via virtual meetings
Workshop Curriculum to be delivered by Mental Health Ambassadors for approved projects / events
AANHPI Mental Health Information & Resources
Partner Organizations will provide:
Onsite Support to Mental Health Ambassadors.
Logistical Support as needed (e.g. printing, supplies, venue, marketing, food/snacks, etc.)
Information on Local Resources as available (e.g. key support staff/faculty, counseling centers, JEDI offices, community organizations, etc.)
