Joy An

Youth Mental Health Ambassador

Joy An is a student leader and mental health advocate passionate about supporting Asian communities.

Last year, Joy participated in the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program and spent a year in India, taking on the role of the YES alumni area captain under American Councils for International Education upon her return.

She also helps shape education policy and equity initiatives through the Los Angeles County Office of Education Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council and AI Taskforce, serving over 2 million students.

Joy is a President's Volunteer Service Gold and Congressional Award recipient, hoping to pursue studies in business and international relations to advance culturally responsive approaches to mental health and global wellbeing.

As a Youth Mental Health Ambassador, Joy aims to bring a mental health education initiative to her community through partnership with her school and county office of education.
