Liang Xu

Mentor - Ambassadors

🌏 Chinese 📍 Georgia

Liang Xu has a background in business, accounting, and social entrepreneurship. She is the Founder of Mitty Mau, a clothing company that raises mental health awareness.

Liang has a dream: to advocate for mental health. Mental illness has touched Liang’s family for three generations. From being a foreign student pursuing higher education in the U.S., to becoming a mother of two balancing career stress with family life, she knows how heavy it can feel.

During the pandemic, it broke her heart to see so many children, teenagers, and young adults struggling - including her own children and their friends. When her daughter, Kat, adopted a gentle rescue cat named Mitty, their lives changed. Mitty's sweet gentleness filled their hearts, and brought their family closer together. Kat, with a caring heart and creative vision, encouraged Liang to dream big. What if we could take that loving feeling and share it with others?

Then, Mitty Mau was born. With her daughter, they designed and made casual clothing that comforts the body while quietly supporting the heart. The cat design symbolizes independence, resilience and being true to ourselves. It’s her way of sharing a powerful message: You’re not alone. There’s help. There’s hope. To support your mental health, and support the people you love and care for.

At Thriving Asians, Liang serves as a Mentor for the Youth Mental Health Leadership Programs - supporting high school students of the Youth Mental Health Ambassadors North Carolina Pod.
